Public Werks Possibly Seeking Legislation

Just heard a rumor that Public Werks is in Austin shopping amendments that would help them get around some of the obstacles they are facing in getting approval for the Blacklands Toll Road. Apparently they don’t want to have to deal with NCTCOG/RTC, NTTA, local officials, and especially the PUBLIC! I have not been able to get any specifics, but we have to stay ahead of this. PLEASE contact the House and Senate transportation committees, and let them know there is much public opposition to this project. Tell them why this is a bad idea for our communities and how this corporation is seeking to profit on the backs of private citizens. Public Werks does not care what the public wants, and they don’t want you to speak out. They are denying the public the transparency we deserve. Let them know you are still here and you are not going to be silent. Click the link below to email everyone on the House & Senate transportation committees. If you can, call some of the members as well, especially those closest to this area. Their phone numbers are below. (Be sure to include your full name, address, and phone number in all correspondence.)

Really wish Public Works would stop trying to ruin my way of living,I live in Caddo Mill’s for a reason small town atmosphere, good schools and peace and quiet. It’s sad to think people who don’t enjoy these things have the the opportunity to take them away from me just so themselves and the politicians they support can make money.I live along the right of way they are wanting to build on,to bad for them because this will not go well for anyone who tries to encroach on my property. Why don’t you yahoos figure out how to improve the roads we have and stop trying to make money off of ideas you want to pitch the state.

Why is Public Werks trying to find an ammendment to go around the obstacles that are put in place to PROTECT us from UN-Necessary projects & wastful spending: like the Blackland Toll Road????
I ask that every Senator & Representative on the Transportation Committee to ask themselves: Would I want this in my front yard? Would I want to step out my front door & tackle having to hop on a toll road at the end of my drive way?
Especially a project like the Blackland Toll Road-which is to accomadate a few & inconvince all those that live in it’s path. Yet-that’s exactly what your asking those of us that live in it’s path to do. Those of us that OPPOSE the Blackland Toll Road will not be silent-while you & the private corporation behind this project try to go behind our backs & push this through!!!!
