TURF Citizen Lobby Day

The following is from an email I received from Terri Hall of “Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom.” This organization has been fighting for the private property rights of citizens and accountability in government for some time. They are working very hard during this legislative session and would like our help! We need anyone who is able to go to Austin to aid the cause and plead our specific case against TTC as well.

*************

March 12 is our TURF Lobby Day at the Capitol (9 AM – 4 PM). We have lots of activities planned (a press conference, being recognized from the House and Senate floor, attending key committee hearings, speaking to legislators, and also hearing from lawmakers after lunch).
We need a HUGE crowd to show up to talk to legislators about transportation. There are already some very bad proposals being pushed by the leadership (more debt, more tolls), and without a grassroots revolt, it’ll sail through without a whimper of opposition. So if you could plan to come and work to get others to join you, it would be so appreciated.

  1. The proposed toll road is affecting older people in the Clinton Community. Making a move and starting over at any age is difficult. When you are older there are so many unknowns its scary. I do not want this toll road in Hunt County!
